Collaboration in the fight against drug crime

U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration Visits the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA).

The delegation led by Deputy Regional Director of DEA, curator of the DEA Representative Office in Moscow, Michael Novakoski, discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the Belarusian side. The guests showed a film on the topic of drug addiction prevention and examined issues of interest with representatives of the departments of forensic science and the operational-search activities of the Faculty of Militia.

During meeting with delegates, the first deputy head of the academy, Alexei Bashan, dwelled on innovative approaches in organizing training for law enforcement agencies, highlighted issues related to the educational process and research activities in educational institutions, and formulated priority directions for the development of the university, including  international cooperation. The head of the International training center for training, advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of migration and the fight against human trafficking, Nikolai Matsukov, conducted a tour for the guests in the entrusted division.

Academy staff spoke in detail about the training opportunities for Belarusian and foreign specialists at the university. Agreements were reached on further cooperation in the field of training for law enforcement agencies. The parties noted the importance of sharing experience in the fight against crime.
