Today experts at the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) have met with representatives of Belarusian departments.
The two-day seminar, organized on October 2-3, brought together employees of the Ministry of the Interior and other competent bodies on the basis of the International Training Center for Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel in the Field of Migration and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The issues related to the cash remittances of migrants will be discussed these days. The ICMPD expert Violetta Wagner noted, that in modern conditions, cash remittances of migrants have a significant impact on the economic and migration policies of different countries. Many departments showed interest in this topic, which ultimately was reflected in the agenda.
The seminar was moderated by Outa Hermalahti, Project Specialist, Representative Office of the European Union in Belarus. Speaking about cooperation with the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she emphasized the openness of the host country for representatives of international organizations. A series of thematic events with the participation of ICMPD experts have already taken place at the university of militia, and the next is scheduled for December.
The seminar program will cover a wide range of issues. Workers in the banking sector will actively participate in the discussion of the characteristics of migrant remittances. In addition, the stages of preparation of the draft Concept of the migration policy of Belarus will be considered together with foreign experts. Seminar participants will also exchange statistics on labor migration in our country and the world.
