Today on the basis of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs a refresher course in the field of counteracting the sexual exploitation of minors has been opened.
International experts and law enforcement officers continue to work together in Belarus to counter the sexual exploitation of minors, including on the Internet.
- The Ministry of the Interior, together with other interested organizations, is actively and purposefully working on the identification, suppression and disclosure of crimes of this category. We are actively involved in improving legislation and law enforcement practice in this area. From 2000 to August this year, more than 8.5 thousand crimes related to human trafficking were detected, - said Dmitry Tsayun, deputy head of the main department for drug control and combating human trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.
The international training center of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has traditionally become the venue for the current meeting. This continuing education course is organized from September 10 to 13. Elena Nyanenkova, the consultant of the Glo.Act project in Belarus, UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Dmitry Shilin, senior coordinator for child protection at the UNICEF Office in Belarus, also take part in it.
