On the basis of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs they discussed issues of the activities of the international technical assistance project in the field of combating human trafficking.
The International Training Center for training, advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of migration and combating human trafficking held the second meeting of the Advisory Council for the implementation of the ICC project “Strengthening the national mechanism of referral of victims of human trafficking in the Republic of Belarus”. The project has been implemented since mid-2017 by the Ministry of the Interior of our country, together with the offices of the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus.
The national coordinator of the project is the head of the main drug control and anti-trafficking department of the criminal militia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, colonel of militia Gennady Kazakevich, who noted that the militia department combines the efforts of all interested parties in countering human trafficking as an international and national threat.
The ICP project manager, Tatyana Verigo, and representatives of international and republican public associations representing various regions of our country told about their work. A rich program of the meeting allowed the participants to share their experience and discuss in detail future action plans.
