A seminar in the field of law enforcement was held with the participation of OSCE experts at the International Training Center of the Academy of the Interior Ministry.
The seminar “Implementing Police Activities Based on Operational Data and Information” was held at the International Training Center for training, advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of migration and combating human trafficking. The meeting brought together representatives of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and the competent authorities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova, Russia and Sweden. As in many other educational events, scientists of the departmental university took an active part in this seminar.
Colonel Alexei Bashan, acting head of the Academy of the Interior Ministry, noted the relevance of the seminar, which touched upon the key aspects of combating human trafficking, illegal drug trafficking and many other types of transnational organized crime. On the agenda are issues of cooperation between law enforcement agencies of various countries, the implementation of operational information exchange and cooperation efforts in solving problems.
At the seminar, each in its own direction, along with representatives from different countries, OSCE experts spoke. This is the third event in six months, held under the auspices of the organization on the basis of the International Training Center of the Academy of the Interior Ministry. Issues raised at the meeting were considered by 7 participants from the OSCE, and from the OSCE Secretariat - Coordinator of activities to counter transnational threats, Rasa Ostrauskaite , outlining plans for 2019, and a representative of the Department of Transnational Threats Arnar Johnson , whose presentation opened the informative program of the seminar. The expert prepared a presentation of a policing model based on operational data and information.
Specialists from different countries, including academic educators from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, also shared their experience in the field of law enforcement, examined in detail the process of exchanging operational information and the possibility of interaction between competent authorities at the international level
The deputy head of the Academy of the MIA for International Cooperation, the head of the International Training Center for training and retraining in the field of migration and combating trafficking in human beings colonel of militia Alexander Kravchenko expressed gratitude to all the forum participants, also thanked the OSCE representatives for their full support in holding thematic meetings and discussed plans for further cooperation with experts, assuring the Academy of the Interior Ministry and the continue to take educational events of international importance.
Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Interior Ministry CM, Colonel of Militia Maxim Svirid expressed confidence that the exchange of experience and views in this area, presented by foreign colleagues and OSCE experts, will help to develop further international cooperation, increasing the effectiveness of counteractio crime.
