The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs adopts a training course with the participation of international experts in the field of child protection on the Internet.
International experts in the field of CPS - child protection systems, also representing the Coalition for Child Protection (United Kingdom) Richard Matthews and Paul Bayer once again visited the International Training Center for Training, Advanced Training and Retraining in Migration and Anti-Trafficking in the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The traditional event gathered the staff of the units for drug control and anti-trafficking of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee. The teachers of the militia university showed an active interest in the training course. Having taken part in a similar event organized on the basis of the ISC on October 15-19, the faculty did not stand aside.
The refresher course is devoted to the topic “Counteraction to crimes against sexual inviolability of minors on the Internet”. Richard Matthews assured that the participants of the event will receive the necessary skills and access to a computer program in the field of child protection.
- The software is used in operational work since 2005 in many countries of the world, allowing to save children from violence on the Internet. Our training is aimed at improving the efficiency of work to identify and investigate crimes in this area, - said an international expert.
The significance of the issues included in the program of the event, said Deputy Chief of the GUNiPTL KM MIA Police Colonel Dmitry Tsayun:
- We invited employees of practical departments from all over the republic. The knowledge gained on this course and individual access keys will contribute to effectively countering these most cynical crimes committed through the Internet.
The Deputy Head of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for International Cooperation - the Head of the International Training Center, Police Colonel Alexander Kravchenko told about the long-term practice of holding such meetings and the readiness of the militia university to continue to take on its base educational events of international importance. Special words of appreciation for the assistance in conducting the training were expressed by the head of the representatives of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus, the Polish embassy in our country and all the organizers of the event. Recall that the refresher course is conducted within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Strengthening the national mechanism for referral of trafficking victims” in the Republic of Belarus, implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus together with the Office of the International Organization for Migration.
The results of the training course will be announced on December 6th. For four days, international experts will share their special knowledge in the field of investigating crimes related to the spread of child pornography on the Internet, and Belarusian law enforcement officers will study the principles of computer systems in this field, discuss the characteristics of identifying criminals and initiating criminal cases, and quickly share - search activity.
