The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs accepts the international interdepartmental training seminar "Actual issues of the use of the polygraph in law enforcement."
On November 22, at the International Training Center, the seminar brought together representatives of the main criminal investigation department of the criminal milicia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and polygraph examiners from other law enforcement departments of the milicia department, as well as a number of state bodies, including the Investigation Committee, State Judicial Examination Committee . Topical issues of practical activity with the Belarusian colleagues will be discussed by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
“A lot is being done at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs so that the polygraph can be effectively used in the fight against crime,” said at the opening of the seminar the first deputy head of the university, milicia colonel Alexei Bashan. - The Academy is the only institution of higher education in the republic that has the right to retrain specialists in the framework of the relevant specialty not only for the internal affairs bodies, but also for other law enforcement agencies of our country.
Militia University attaches great importance to training seminars and scientific conferences necessary for the effective organization of the educational process in this area. The significance of the current meeting was stressed by the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs - Chairman of the Republican Council of the Belarusian Public Organization of Veterans of the Internal Affairs Bodies and Internal Troops, Colonel of the Militia, retired Valentin Potapovich. Recalling the history of the use of the polygraph, Valentin Stanislavovich told about the role of this technical means in the methods and tactics of investigation and prevention of crimes.
The seminar will last two days. During this time, the participants of the event will consider the features of psycho-physiological research and, using practical examples, will discuss the use of a polygraph in the activities of law enforcement and other government agencies.
